Review: Servier KONNEKTIV IV, on osteoporosis

08.02.2010

Osteoporosis is the central theme of the training event series Servier KONNEKTIV IV, which addressed in particular to orthopedic surgeons. In late 2009 and early 2010 it was held on four dates in four cities in Germany.

The program included several presentations on this topic and an interactive competence circle. At the workshop, "Get out of the chair - movement as a therapy support" Novotec Medical pointed out how the risks of osteoporosis (increased risk of falling or fracture risk, reduction of bone mass and strength) can be avoided by an early diagnosis of muscular problems in combination with a reasonable therapy.

Weak muscles cause an increased risk of falls and, therefore, an increased risk of fractures. In addition, the loss of muscle strength results in a reduction of bone mass (osteopenia or so-called secondary osteoporosis).

Leonardo Mechanography allows the identification and assessment of individual muscle function, Galileo Training the successful treatment of musculo-skeletal disorders.
