Galileo® in stress urinary incontinence
Continence problems in women and men should not be a taboo subject. In Germany, about 7 million people suffer from this condition. The most common cause is pelvic floor muscle atony and the consequent inability of the muscles to close the urethra tightly, for example, because of age, pregnancy or post natal. Galileo Training strengthens the pelvic floor muscles and noticeably improves the symptoms of stress incontinence. In most patients, continence is recovered completely. Studies have shown a cure rate of up to 80%.
Why Galileo®?
Strengthening of bladder and pelvic floor muscles and improving deliberate control.
Many people are not consciously able to contract the correct muscle. This is especially the case for the pelvic floor because these "invisible" muscles are mysteriously placed inside the body. However, the muscle contractions evoked by Galileo Training are independent of the patient's volition. Specific exercises on the Galileo improve function and efficiency of the pelvic floor muscles and ameliorate the symptoms of incontinence.
Faster restitution after pregnancy and delivery.
During child birth confinement the pelvic floor is stretched. This may cause bladder or uterus prolapse and as a consequence induce stress incontinence. Galileo Training used, for example, as a postnatal exercise programme helps to strengthen the stretched pelvic floor as well as pelvis and back muscles.
